Conditions & Treatments - Adhesive Capsulitis - Frozen Shoulder

Adhesive capsulitis, or frozen shoulder, is a condition that usually develops after an injury or surgery to the shoulder. As your body begins to heal from the injury or surgery, tissue begins to regenerate. Scar tissue/adhesions can develop around the shoulder joint and capsule if an individual guards and limits his/her range of motion to the affected shoulder. The result of this scar tissue/adhesion is stiffness, limited range of motion and pain at the shoulder joint when movement of the affected shoulder is attempted. The image provided displays scar tissue/adhesions that can develop at the shoulder joint and capsule after an injury or surgery.
