At CyberPT our goal is to help promote the physical therapy profession and the individuals who provide physical therapy services. Given the importance of education and the high costs of obtaining such resources, CyberPT has listed links below to various organizations who may be able to assist financially towards the success of individuals involved in the physical therapy profession. Ambucs- scholarships for therapists
APTA Foundation for Physical Therapy- supports physical therapy research
WPTA- Wisconsin Physical Therapy Fund- provides financial assistance to physical therapist or physical therapist assistant students in their last year of professional education in the state of Wisconsin
American Academy of Physical Therapy- provides relief to poor and disadvantaged African American and other minorities interested in the allied health professions 
Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers Scholars Award- provides a chosen physical therapy student with $7,500 per year to help defray the cost of attending school at Governors State University in Illinois

Allison Allen is a physical therapy student at Concordia University in Wisconsin. She has wanted to become a physical therapist ever since shadowing a physical therapist in high school. Her passion has continued to grown and now she desires to work in the pediatric field. It is her goal to positively impact both children and the families by providing encouragement and improvement in their quality of life. She is excited to enter this field and hopes to provide support to families as well as helping to improve lives.

 

Lara Canham is a physical therapy student at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She would like to be a PT because she has fallen in love with movement and the human body. She also loves the challenge of being a detective, trying to come up with answers to many unexplainable problems that have either acutely or chronically caused others discomfort. She thrives on being given a situation with the goal of making the most out of it, for the sake of helping others. She cannot wait until she is in the field, using her skills and knowledge to help others.

 

Erin Lewis is a physical therapy student at Grand Valley State University in Michigan. She believes helping one return to a functional level is the most rewarding outcome she could imagine for any profession. She would like to be a PT to help people who have experienced devastating injuries, debilitating diseases or were born with congenital abnormalities gain function and live there life to the best of their ability. As a PT, she will get to work with a variety of patients of all different ages and functional levels allowing her to help children take their first steps, others regain the ability to walk, and even help athletes return to the athletic field. The possibilities are endless.
