Thank you for visiting CyberPT’s web page for finding information on scholarships, grants and tuition/continuing education reimbursement. At CyberPT our goal is to help promote the physical therapy profession and the individuals who provide physical therapy services. Given the importance of education and the high costs of obtaining such resources, CyberPT has listed links below to various organizations who may be able to assist financially towards the success of individuals involved in the physical therapy profession. If you have additional information on scholarships or other areas of financial assistance for the further development and education of physical therapy professionals please email us at feedback@cyberpt.com, so that we can include it on this page.

Kathryn Hickey is a physical therapy student at Bellarmine University in Kentucky. She believes that a career in physical therapy will afford her the opportunity to serve all people in an effort to positively affect their lives. With physical therapy, she feels that it’s not connecting to a person, but working towards their goals, by their terms. She explains that the PT/patient relationship is a give and take relationship where, in the end, everyone wins. She wants to see patients master life skills, return to the activities they love, and positively influence their overall quality of life. As a physical therapist she would like to teach patients how to walk or use assistive devices and invent a way of changing bored exercises to fun ones. She would like to get patients back to their prior level of function, and have fun doing it.

Jessica Smith is a physical therapy student at the University of Wisconsin- Madison. Throughout college her parents encouraged her to consider medical school while she saw herself going into veterinary medicine. However, when it came time to start thinking about graduate school applications she realized that neither career path was quite right for her. When she really thought about what she wanted in a career, she realized that her true interest lies in physical therapy. Through a profession such as physical therapy she believes she will be able to make a difference in a patient's life by having the opportunity to develop a relationship with her patient and following through with him or her throughout the rehabilitation process.

Stacy King is a physical therapy student at Hardin-Simmons University in Texas. Her interest and exposure to physical therapy dates back to high school when she suffered an injury requiring rehabilitation. Because of her past experiences she decided to pursue physical therapy, because she wants to be a positive and enthusiastic influence for other individuals during their road to recovery. Sara Fajardo is a physical therapy student at Northern Illinois University. After researching different professions, a career in physical therapy appealed to her the most because she found the outcome of helping others a reward in itself. Once she is a physical therapist, her goal is to be actively involved in her Hispanic community and to educate them on the importance and benefits of proper rehabilitation through physical therapy. This is very important to her as she believes that often times the Latino culture doesn't fully understand the benefits of physical therapy.
