Hi I am considering a career in PT and have been for quite some time. I am currently a high school science teacher with a family so I need to work. I would love to apply for school and pursue this career I am just concerned about finances while I am in the program. Can you work while in a Physical Therapy program. What type of job would be the best to have? Can student loans cover all other expenses while in school?

For getting an entry into physical therapy profession you need a minimum of baccalaureate degree from an accredited physical therapy program. As soon as you finish this course you can easily get a job in hospitals or rehabilitation centers. But since you are working as a teacher now, you can also go for an online program in physical therapy. This would allow you to continue with your teaching profession. There are many accredited colleges offering physical therapy courses. The site http://physicaltherapycolleges.org/  would be helpful for you, as it has the complete information about physical therapy career. Once you finish your bachelor's degree, you can go for a master degree or doctoral degree programs in physical therapy in order to continue your studies.

Yes you can work while in PT school. I had a part time job in the hospital as a rehab aide on weekends. It would be possible to work during the week as well, but it may be tough to find a job that will accomodate yuor schedule. Depending on the amount you receive and your fixed and variable expenses, student loans should be able to cover all the expenses. With any situation that involves financial involvement, careful planning will be required.
