Yes, it may be possible to pair up with girls but as a PT you will have to see males as well so it would be beneficial to also work with males. Just like any other health profession, we are working with patients which requires us to have in depth knowledge of human anatomy. Both physical therapists and occupational therapists require the use of their hands in both diagnostic skills and treatment skills for our patients. Therefore, there may be situations where we may be put in an uncomfortable and awkward situation and will require us to act with utmost professionalism. If you are truly interested in becoming a PT or OT it may be a good idea for you to shadow therapists in different settings to determine if this is a field that would suit your needs and comfort level."
