This is mainly based on animal research which demonstrated inhibition/damage to the epiphyseal plate following high-intensity ultrasound. More research is needed on this topic and on human tissue. I personally wouldn't perform ultrasound over a growth plate. There are a variety of other options available. ie. manual therapy, iontophoresis, etc."</div>]]>
