Our user asked: "logically first are the non weight bearring strengtheners, with ice after. then add stretch & flex pt, then additional strength etc. or advise list of start to final pt progretion from your pt list so for best results, i can do at home more than 2-3 times a week thx"

Ask a PT Response: "For post operative knee physical therapy progression, please refer to our protocols page. Please remember that protocols are just general guidelines and that surgeries and the rehabilitation program afterwards can vary somewhat depending on the surgery performed, the surgeon, the patient and the extent of injury. Therefore, it is extremely important that the therapist work with the surgeon to customize a rehabilitation program specific for the patient. http://www.cyberpt.com/cyberptprotocols.asp - http://www.cyberpt.com/cyberptprotocols.asp "

A knee arthroscopy is a common procedure designed to relieve knee pain. The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine reports that more than four million knee arthroscopies are performed worldwide each year. One of the most important keys to a successful experience with knee arthroscopy is an understanding of exercises to perform during recovery. Exercises after knee arthroscopy are critical to regaining strength and function, ultimately allowing for a return to normal activities. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, or AAOS, lists several exercises to assist with recovery after knee arthroscopy.Angry
