Our user asked: "I am a four time RC repair of supraspinatus, within 2 years, patient. Each shoulder was repaired twice. Tears were significant, with one being in the 3+ range. I am 8 mnths from last surgery and am experiencing a muscular "frozen" situation of my upper body. Muscles involved are all back and chest muscles. PT protocols take you to 24 mnths rehab, but very little information past this point. I am currently working with a PT but don't seem to be progressing. I am a swimmer and would like to get back to this activity soon. Suggestions for rehab protocols at this point would be helpful. Traditional methods are not producing results."

Ask a PT Response: "For someone this far out post op surgery you are correct that there are no protocols. Exercise prescription will be based on patient's limitations and patient goals. Can you tell me what you are doing in physical therapy right now?"
