Our user asked: "Hi, I'm 25 years old and have a mild bulging disc at L5-S1. But most of the time I'm in pain. I've done PT before with no help. What exercises would you recommend to help stabilize that area and relieve the pressure."

Ask a PT Response: "I would suggest that you consult with an orthopedic MD for further medical attention if you have tried physical therapy and it has not helped. There are other options to consider such as epidural injections, McKenzie based physical therapy, etc.. to treat a discogenic syndrome. Generally for patients who have lumbar disc problems, I would initially have my patients avoid exercises which would result in lumbar flexion. Good luck to you!"
