Our user asked: "When should I start strengthening exercises after a hamstring strain? I feel better, but somes moves results in a little heated feeling."

Ask a PT Response: "Without physically examining you, I will be unable to give you a direct answer. What I can tell you is what I prescribe to my patients (keep in mind each patient is different) as far as strength progression for hams (pain is a determining factor as far as progression) ie. ham sets, to seated ham curls with thera-tubing, to standing ham curls with ankle weights, to seated ham curls on the machine, to bridging with ham curls on the ball to jumping/plyometric strengthening, to running. I hope this helps. Please remember that this is just a general progression with other options as well and varies based on the individual and severity of injury. I hope this helps. Thanks for using CyberPT."
