Our user asked: "I had knee surgery 2 1/2 months ago and am having problems getting my ROM back. What is the best way to accomplish that? Are there specific exercises that might help?"

Ask a PT Response: "Participation in physical therapy and compliance with your home exercise program will hopefully yield the best results in achieving more ROM. Some common methods utilized by physical therapists and their patients includes: utilizing modalities such as hot packs along with stretching, utilizng soft tissue mobilization/manual therapy techniques, participation in aquatic physical therapy and the use of assistive ROM devices such as the products provided by vendors such as JAS ( http://www.jointactivesystems.com/index.html - http://www.jointactivesystems.com/index.html ) or ERMI ( http://www.getmotion.com - http://www.getmotion.com ). As far as specific exercises go, you most likely are performing them if you have been working with a physical therapist. Thanks for using CyberPT."
