Our user asked "Hi, I am in a bind. My building principal would like to move an intergrated K class that house children with Physical disabled students. This year the stuedent has cerebal palsy, she has a motorizrd wheel chair and a rolling walker. The building principal would like to move the class into a much smaller room, where I feel she will have a hard time manuvering with her walker. Is there any stats on how wide pathways need to be and classroom square footage! Please let me know ASAP!"

Ask a PT Response: "Unfortunately we are not familiar with the building codes as this probably differs on location and in some cases building codes may be subjected to grandfather clauses. I would recommend you contact the city of Haverhill and see if you can obtain the answers to your questions there. I would contact the health & inspection department or the engineering department. Their web address is
http://www.ci.haverhill.ma.us/ - www.ci.haverhill.ma.us . Sorry I couldn't have been more help in your unfortunate situation ."
