Our user asked: "On Dec 27th I had a left foot tendon transfer, and will be starting physical therapy! I was wondering what kind of exercise will they start with first? As of right now I can't move my ankle or foot and it feels really numb and stiff! Will physical therapy hurt my foot even more?"
Ask a PT Response: "Most likely the PT will start with gentle Passive Range Of Motion/Active Assisted Range Of Motion exercises, joint mobs, soft tissue mobilization, gait training, and edema management (ie. ice). Strengthening and other higher level exercises will be initiated as you progress. Best of luck with your recovery."
