Our user asked: "Outside of Rt. lower leg, fibula appears to be bruised/stressed/maybe cracked because by touch sends 'zing' down to ankle. Same leg as knee MCL/pes anserine bursitis, don't know which came first? Been 3wks, saw primary MD, given Voltaren gel & he said go back if still problem? Advice?"
Ask a PT Response: "First, what was the cause of the injury? Have you had medical imaging performed? Has the gel helped? If your condition has not improved, it may a good ideal to return to your MD and at least have an x-ray performed and perhaps an order for PT to determine what may be the cause of the pain. If PT doesn't help, than a MRI is usually the next step."
Our user responsed: "thx for response! gel helping some & knee brace even more. Will go back to MD since been more than 10d and he said if not getting better, then see him for scan & maybe steroid shot? I think the PT is also next step; want to have guided help!"
