Our user asked: "I go to my chiropractor quite often because my hip gets out of alignment. Is there any exercises you can recomment that will strengthen the muscles that hold my hips in place?"

Ask a PT Response: "The shape of the ball and socket hip joint along with the ligaments at the hip assist with keeping the hip in place. Muscles assist with mobility and stability at the hip. The hip moves in 3 planes: flexion/extension, abduction/adduction & internal rotation/external rotation. Without physicaly examining you, I would not be able to determine which exercises would work best for you. I would recommend you see a physical therapist so that he or she could conduct an evaluation and determine where your deficits are and develop a plan of care for you specific towards your needs. Your PT can work with your chiropractor to help keep your hip in alignment on a more permanent basis."
