Our user asked: "I am a PTA who is trying to get my license in VA and need to get 60 ceu's before VA will give me a license (and do a trainee-ship, but that is already set up). What is the best way to get my ceu's without spending a ton of money??"

Ask a PT Response: "Have you checked out the online courses offered by various con ed providers. The online courses are usually alot less expensive.

To all home health physical therapists:

there is app available on the google play store "Physical Therapy Exercise-HEP" under the medical category. This is a simple home exercise program of supine, sitting and standing exercises which you can check off which ones you want for your patient and put their name, ID# and your name as the therapist with the date. The great thing is that you can email this to their email address, or to the office or to yourself and print out. There is a confidentiality notice to adhere to HIPPA guidelines as well. And once you leave the screen, no information is saved. So it won't be on your smartphone to also adhere to guidelines. Go to the google play store and search under apps for "HEP" and scroll down. It is presently at #8, but that could change as new apps are posted. Check it out!!! There is a physical therapy app available on the google play store called "Physical Therapy Tests". This has about 14 objective tests that can be used during evaluation/assessment. This is great as a home health PT, I do not always have the test in front of me. I would like to inform any therapist who is confused with all the talk about the new g codes (functional descriptor codes) which are mandated to take effect July 1,2013 that I have an app in the google play store under the- category of "medical" and search "G-Codes for Therapy-PT,OT,SP which lists the codes, the modifiers and an actual conversion calculator that is at your disposal as an app!
