In other words, if I stand upright my right hip joint points more to the right and my left hip joint points more to the left.

At 58 I've come to realize that I'm missing some flexibility in my ability to squat so I'm looking up a program to develop that ability. Everything I've seen seems to ask the exerciser to point their feet straight forward. My feet have always felt more comfortable pointing slightly outward.

Is there some crucial reason why my feet should point directly forward? Will I strain something if I allow my toes to rotate outward somewhat?

Thanks for any experience you might share.

And I've been trying to get rid of my lower backache for over a year now. It started during a very stressful period of my life. It's only getting worse. Currently it's driving me crazy. I don't do drugs, other then the ones prescribed to me for my ADHD. 36mg Concerta daily. I started those somewhat less then a year ago. It has been a life-saver, so I hope it's not the cause!
<p ="_1qeIAgB0cPwnLhDF9XSiJM" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0.8em 0px 0.25em; border: 0px; font-variant-numeric: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-size: 14px; line-height: inherit; font-family: "Noto Sans", Arial, sans-serif; vertical-align: line; color: rgb26, 26, 27;">The pain is most severe in the mornings. It originates from somewhere between my left hip and lower back. Somewhere in that connection. The pain radiates into my left leg and makes my toes tingle. It's like an electrical pain. The whole area surrounding my hips feels very stiff. As if I have exercised a lot. As the day advances, it gets better, but doesn't go away completely. I walk a lot, and that seems to alleviate it somewhat, but only very temporarily. And the end of the afternoon I'm exhausted because of it, and all I want to do is lie down.
<p ="_1qeIAgB0cPwnLhDF9XSiJM" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0.8em 0px 0.25em; border: 0px; font-variant-numeric: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-size: 14px; line-height: inherit; font-family: "Noto Sans", Arial, sans-serif; vertical-align: line; color: rgb26, 26, 27;">After 20 sessions, my physical therapist didn't know what to do with me anymore. And he suggested to seek the help of a specialist. So, I went to my GP who then transferred me to a neurologist. The Neurologist examined me, but didn't find any evidence for neurological pain. Not enough to see any necessity for having a scan done anyway. He also consulted with a rheumatologist for me, but he didn't know either. After that I saw an osteopath. That seemed to help in the beginning. (Or maybe it was wishful thinking?) After 10 sessions (and lots of money, because insurance didn't cover it) I'm worse off then I started out!
<p ="_1qeIAgB0cPwnLhDF9XSiJM" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0.8em 0px 0.25em; border: 0px; font-variant-numeric: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-size: 14px; line-height: inherit; font-family: "Noto Sans", Arial, sans-serif; vertical-align: line; color: rgb26, 26, 27;">If I search online then a "trapped sciatica nerve" seems to have the best matching description to my symptoms. But I have no idea what can be done about it. I did some exercises that I found online, but those were excruciatingly painful and made things worse. I also read that a trapped sciatica nerve resolves by itself after 6 weeks. So that can't be it, right?
<p ="_1qeIAgB0cPwnLhDF9XSiJM" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0.8em 0px 0px; border: 0px; font-variant-numeric: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-size: 14px; line-height: inherit; font-family: "Noto Sans", Arial, sans-serif; vertical-align: line; color: rgb26, 26, 27;">Please please please help me and point me in the right directed. How do I help them help me?

I'm looking for support and some reassurance. My fiance had open heart surgery November 29th. He had a lot of complications afterward had difficulty coming off the breathing tube and ended up staying on the ventilator for 2 weeks. Then placed a trach still having the ventilator and then he ended up in the long-term acute rehab center with dialysis. He's now off the dialysis off the vent off the trach. He is a 330 lb guy he has not been on his feet since November 29th. They've been doing rehab with him. They sit him up for about a half-hour a day. Unfortunately he has a large pressure area on his bottom which keeps him from sitting up for long periods of time. They're doing a lot of bed exercises but they've yet to stand him and get him in parallel bars or try to stand up lift. Am I being too naive it's been a month since he's been in the latest rehab center and they haven't tried to Stand Up Lift or anything yet should I be pushy or or do I need to just be patient? Any words of encouragement would be helpful.

For example, you may feel sore after stretching or deep tissue massage. But there's a reason for that.

You need to be more strong physically as well as mentally.
