Now that I am working at home on regaining my extension, I wanted to know is it safe to supinate my forearm and then extend it to stretch out the elbow? Or, must I keep the forearm in a neutral position if I am performing extension stretches?"

Ask a PT Response: "No- there are no restrictions for either a volar or dorsal release proximally. For a DRUJ (distal radial ulnar joint) capsular release, you just have to make sure you are maintaining a balance between the pro/sup stretch.

Nevertheless, it is always a good idea to consult with your surgeon or therapist prior to deviating from any plan of care."
