Tender areas in the muscles commonly called "knots" but in medical terminology called "trigger points" create muscle spasm and tightness.

Edited by Admin - Dec 21 2010 at 11:25am

This project is not for a grade. I am getting input from different clinics etc. would appreciate any input thanks"

Ask a PT Response: "Physical therapy treatment of fibromyalgia includes: education, stress management, lifestyle training, manual therapy, modalities, aquatic therapy and conditioning and aerobic exercise. The types and forms of exercises prescribed to the patient will vary and will be dependent of the patient. The most important thing to remember when working with patients with fibromyalgia is that these patients may fatigue quickly and may have a low tolerance for exertion. Therefore, it will be important to start off with short exercise sessions and progress as tolerated. I hope this helps."
