Author: Ask a PT
Subject: 706
Posted: Jul 28 2010 at 10:58am

Our user asked: "My pt told me i had a common sprained ankle even though I didn't injury it and he said that it should have gotten better in a couple weeks and it still hurts very badly and is getting worse. I was wondering if you knew what could be wrong with it, it has been hurting since the end of April and I stated going to physical therapy June 11 I hope you can help me."

Ask a PT Response: "There could be a number of things going on at your ankle. Since you have been dealing with this condition for so long, been seeing a PT, and it has not improved, I would recommend you seek out further medical attention by seeing an orthopedic MD or get some kind of medical imaging performed to gain a better understanding of your condition. Best of luck to you."
