If a cast was just removed, you can have the child practice parts of walking by holding onto something for support (ie. table, etc.) and having the child perform play activities such as partial lunges with reaching, or sidestepping holding on to support, or partial squats, etc.. You can then put the parts together and have the child work on walking with hand held support and than no support. Hope this helps. ]]>
