I rollerblade and perform tricks and have been experiencing hip pain as of late. It first started as hip flexor pain and it started from when I was attemting to jump and land on a fairly high obstacle. I would rest and then skate to limit the pain and then decided to take a 3 week break in order to let my hips recover. So the first day skating I landed kind of funny and my hip pain came right back. A few days later my hip flexor doesn't hurt but I feel the pain deep in my hip, it feels like the joint hurts. I have limited range, sharp pains and have lost strengh in the injured hip (also the non-dominate leg). I have an appointment to see a doc on wensday, I am hoping to get some sort of understanding before hand. Thank you so much."

Ask a PT Response: "What you are doing requires tremendous strength, balance and coordination and puts a significant amount of stresses on your body. Without physically examining you it would be difficult for me to determine what may be going on. Hopefully your MD will have a x-ray taken of your hip to rule out a fracture. Physical therapy would probably also be beneficial to you as well to help regain range of motion, strength and function. Sorry, I could not have been of more help. Best of luck to you with your recovery."
