    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.cyberpt.com/ptforum/member_profile.asp?PF=173">downingp</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 329<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> Nov 21 2008 at 9:13pm<br /><br />I get a sharp, hot pain in my butt, starting an inch or two on either side of the tailbone, then sometimes radiating horizontally toward the rectum.&nbsp; It is intense, very painful, lasting from 10 to 20 seconds.&nbsp; This happens several times a day.&nbsp; Between incidents, there is no discomfort, even with prodding.&nbsp; I have not been able to identify any contributing factor.&nbsp; It sometimes occurs while I am sleeping, waking me with the pain.&nbsp; It can happen sitting or standing, although usually sitting.<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>I would appreciate any insight into the cause and treatment.&nbsp; I am receiving chiropractic adjustments, which have not eliminated the symptoms.&nbsp; It does not seem to be sciatica, since the pain does not radiate down the leg at all.&nbsp; It is isolated in that particular region of my butt.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>I am considering PRRT.&nbsp; Does that seem like a viable treatment?</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Thank you for your help.</DIV>]]>
