My physical therapist said I have tendency of tilting my neck to my right side (where I had shoulder surgery on twice) and my doctor said I am tilting my neck that way because of the surgery. I was just wondering what you thought I should do about this."

Ask a PT Response: "The best people to answer your question would be the PT and surgeon who you have been working with as they will know you and your situation the best. In most cases insurance companies will not warrant you seeing a PT if you are not experiencing symptoms or have functional deficits as a result of your postural dysfunction. A condition such as torticollis is commonly treated by a physical therapists as he or she can determine the most optimal plan of care for the patient. Good luck with everything and thanks for using CyberPT."
