I want to buy ankle brace but want to check which one would work for me the best. Any ideas? Also, does ankle wrapping with bands help stabalizing during the sports? Is there a particular way to wrap such bandages to stabalize an ankle?"

Ask a PT Response: "The most popular ankle brace recommended by healthcare professionals for an ankle sprain is an Ankle Support Orthoses (ASO). See link for description and picture: http://www.dme-direct.com/aso-speed-lacer/ . The brace can be purchased at most sporting good stores or from health care product suppliers. I am not sure what you mean about the bands but wrapping the ankle in a figure 8 strapping system gives the ankle the most support. The ASO does provide this support. With any injury it is recommended to obtain further medical attention prior to return to sport."
