I have been doing physical therapy for about 3 months and my pain has improved significantly. But if i don't go at least once a week - preferably twice - for therapy then i still have pain. My insurance is cutting me off from physical therapy and i am anxious to get my back in good shape so i will not suffer during my pregnancy. Do you have any advice for me? Thanks!!!"

Ask a PT Response: "My advise would be for you to work with your therapist to further develop your home exercise progam so that you are able to perform most of what you do in therapy at home and be able to manage your condition. Committing to a well developed home exercise program designed sepcifically for you is key to maintaining a sucessful outcome. For those tasks which you are unable to perform at home, discuss with your therapist if there are alternative methods of performing them or if there is equipment you could purchase to simulate what is accomplished in therapy. Also make sure you discuss progression with your therapist as well since your body will be changing through the pregnancy. Good communication between yourself and your therapist is essential in your case. I hope this helps and thanks for using CyberPT."
